Jose Mourinho Comments to His Sending off
It is in Mourinho's record as a coach with the most sending off. This time around, he has comment for it.
According to
Jose Mourinho, he did not know why he was sent off towards the end of
Manchester United's match against Southampton.
Manchester
United Boss Mourinho was sent to the stands by the referee in charge Craig
Pawson after the fourth official Mike Jones in the 90th minute called him. Mourinho
earlier appeared to trespass to the pitch and applaud Herrera to trail
back after Mario Lemina skipped past Antonio Valencia.
The fourth
official told Mourinho to retreat to the technical area perimeter but then he
had already communicated with Pawson before the official sent Mourinho off.
"I
don't know," Mourinho replied when he was asked why he was dismissed.
"I don't know. Craig told me to leave and I left. I don't know. He told me
to leave, I left.”
Mourinho
was asked if he collided with the linesman.
"No,
with the fourth official." He replied.
Lukaku's
eighth goal in as many games in the 20th minute settled a stressful win for
United and Mourinho is certain that the lack of glare in Manchester contributed
to certain players' lackluster displays.
"I
think they were really tired," Mourinho added. "Nine of them didn't
play midweek, so nine of them was not even accumulation of fatigue, I think the
weather was beautiful, even if we trained 11 o'clock, 12 o'clock, or 3 o'clock,
in Manchester we don't get this weather.
"The
last time we had this was in Los Angeles and then in Macedonia and I think they
felt, I saw some players not sharp, great spirit, always trying but not the
same sharpness, so when your opponent is coming with everything at you, and
let's do it for 10 or 15 minutes and we were solid." Mourinho concluded.
