Gabriel Jesus Explains his Flop
A lot of players have registered their names as one of the world cup flops as they failed to live up to expectation in the 2018 Russia World Cup.
Belgium kicked out Brazil tactically, denying Gabriel Jesus a chance to end the fruitless journey of his world cup.
Jesus has been a starter in all 5 games in the world cup, although Coach Tite preferred the flopped Jesus to the Liverpool's Firmino, not having faith Firmino may make a difference.
Jesus hinted at the same thing. He said: “It's frustrating – I leave here very frustrated. I was not what I expected.
“I don't know why it went this way – if I did, I'd find a way to solve it.
“Tactically I've always been obedient, and that's what was doing.
I've not changed anything but unfortunately, the ball didn't fall for me.
“Maybe I didn't have clear chances – I don't know, man, I want to win, to score. I didn't miss chances, sometimes things happen that you don't expect.
“In football, one day you are this, one day you are that it's normal and I accept it well.
“Now it's time to reflect. There will always be emotion – if you carry the expectations of 200million people you have to have emotion.”
Before the world cup, Jesus was able to score only 10 goals for his country in 17 appearances and the reason for his flop should really go to the likes of selfish players in the team.
